Inspiring Digital Creativity In Ontario’s North
DGTL CREATOR NORTH BAY
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 3pm – 6pm
Location: 108 Main Street East, North Bay, ON, P1B 1A9
Digital Creator North Bay operates as a free, drop-in learning environment for youth aged 11 – 19 to acquire digital media skills. Staffed by artist mentors, the space is equipped to support interest-driven creative activities like 3D Printing, coding, graphic design, animation, videography, digital photography, podcasting and audio recording. Teens can also come in to work on homework, read, paint, draw, collage, or just hang out and play video games with friends!
What is Dgtl Creator North?
Digital Creator North is a free, low-barrier program that supports youth and emerging artists in exploring digital and media arts. Through hands-on access to creative tools and mentorship, participants can develop digital skills at their own pace, collaborate with others, and pursue their own creative interests in a casual, welcoming space.
Since 2013, the program has expanded from community-based hubs to resources that help other communities build their own youth digital arts spaces using Digital Creator North as a model.

Sara Mayhew
Program Coordinator
Sara Mayhew is a Canadian manga artist, writer, and illustrator. She graduated Canadore College in 2005 and the same year created “Secrets of Sorcerers,” which won the International Manga and Anime Festival award and a Northern Arts grant. Mayhew also illustrated “The First Emperor,” self-published “Love Pet,” and created the “Legend of the Ztarr” series, which received another Northern Arts grant. Mayhew has written about her skeptical viewpoint in her art in various periodicals, podcasts, and conventions. Her work has also featured in Applied Arts Magazine and Scholastic’s ChickaDEE magazine.
Josh Floyd
Program Facilitator
Floyd is the mononymous moniker of the person pictured here. They graduated from Sheridan College’s film program, but their sights were always set on setting up shop in cyberspace. Floyd has edited videos for the YouTube channel Brew, and has helmed the creation of an animated web series, [SUBPARSE]. When screenless, Floyd volunteers at a queer-positive youth space and hopes to be a mentor to the next generation of artists. They’re a big believer in making art with others in the community, ensuring the creative process is accessible for everyone, and encouraging people to follow passions unabashedly.
